Guns and Dragons Release Date and Wishlist Guide

Coming soon on Steam and Epic—how to follow ABUTTON news and set expectations post-playtest.

Last updated:

Release and Wishlist

Guns and Dragons lists Coming soon with a TBA full release date on both Steam (app ID 4687860) and the Epic Games Store. The first Steam playtest (July 30–August 10, 2026) has concluded, and ABUTTON showcased the game at Gamescom 2026 (August 5–9, Cologne, Germany) before entering a post-validation development phase. This page explains why wishlisting matters, how the playtest experience informs 1.0 expectations, and which official channels beat rumor threads when you want accurate notifications.

For live test access steps when new waves open, read Playtest and Playtest News. For first-run orientation, start at Getting Started.

Both storefronts mirror the same high-level pitch: solo or online co-op for 1–3 players, Cross-Platform Multiplayer on Steam, 46+ firearms and bows, runes, artifacts, skills, altar rewards, camp meta, and a magical companion built between runs.

Why wishlist on Steam and Epic

Wishlisting is free and directly affects whether you hear about launch, price reveals, and future test waves:

Steam notifications — Wishlisters receive emails and client alerts when the game releases, discounts appear, or playtest branches update. Request Access during the playtest does not automatically duplicate launch mail if you skip wishlisting the main listing.

Epic parity — Epic Games Store lists the same Coming soon page. If you prefer that launcher, wishlist there so ABUTTON can reach Epic-only PC players when tests or launch dates arrive.

Signal to the studio — Store interest metrics inform marketing and port priorities—including Steam Deck support coming soon and ongoing Unreal Engine optimization.

No wishlist grants early access by itself; it is a notification and interest tool, not a preorder guarantee.

What the first playtest taught us

The July 30–August 10, 2026 Steam playtest gave ABUTTON thousands of real player sessions. Based on community discussion and director interviews at Gamescom:

Weapon and build validation. Players explored 46+ weapon combinations, rune stacks, and artifact synergies. ABUTTON collected data confirming which weapon classes dominate solo versus co-op, informing balance discussions for 1.0.

Co-op design confirmed. The 1–3 player online mode validated naturally — crowd-control and single-target roles split in co-op groups, supporting the design intent behind weapon and build archetypes.

Camp meta resonance. Between-run offshore base progression was described as compelling in trailers; playtest feedback confirmed camp unlocks create meaningful power progression between attempts.

No second-wave date yet. ABUTTON has not publicly announced a follow-up playtest window as of September 2026. Players should monitor the Steam store page and official Discord.

Playtest versus launch expectations

Public tests exist to break things safely. Treat differences as normal:

Stability — Playtest builds may crash or ship placeholder UI. Launch targets Steam Achievements, Steam Cloud, and Family Sharing on the full product listing, but test branches can behave differently until 1.0.

Progress wipes — Assume saves can reset between playtest phases unless Steam news explicitly promises persistence.

Balance — Altar reward pools, boss tuning, and 46+ weapon stats can swing weekly. Builds guides on this wiki label playtest-era advice as provisional for that reason.

Content scope — Marketing mentions caverns, dungeons, villages, formidable bosses, and dragons, but full content scope at launch may exceed what the playtest demonstrated.

Co-op infrastructure — Online play uses Azure PlayFab services with a broadband internet requirement. Launch will likely keep online co-op; offline modes are unconfirmed.

Playing the test still teaches transferable skills: camp investment rhythm in Camp and Base, altar discipline in Altar Rewards, and co-op roles in Co-op.

Gamescom 2026 and what’s next

ABUTTON appeared at Gamescom 2026 (August 5–9, Cologne, Germany) — the European outreach milestone Director Park Jun-woo previewed at ChinaJoy. The show floor featured playable builds for attendees, and European media published fresh gameplay previews and director interviews.

No new release date was announced at Gamescom. ABUTTON maintained its Coming soon stance while using the show to solidify Western market presence and community relationships. The studio is now in a post-validation phase: analyzing playtest data, tuning based on feedback, and preparing for the next milestone toward 1.0 launch.

How ABUTTON communicates after TBA

Track these channels instead of unofficial leak accounts:

Steam store page — Release date changes, playtest banners, and developer news posts land here first for app 4687860.

Epic Games Store — Watch for Coming soon → available transitions and future Epic playtests.

Official Discord — discord.gg/ubyEsuCSky concentrates LFG, patch chatter, and staff clarifications.

Press beats — ChinaJoy (July 31–August 3, 2026) and Gamescom (August 5–9, 2026) were the two major public touchpoints before the post-validation phase. Future announcements will follow similar patterns: trailer or interview, then store update, then test window or release milestone.

This wiki — Updates Hub aggregates facts with links to Guides, Weapons, and Tools when news implies meta shifts.

Features confirmed for launch direction

Store tags and descriptions already commit to several launch-quality features worth wishlisting for:

  • Full controller support including DualShock and DualSense
  • Accessibility: Adjustable Text Size, Camera Comfort, Custom Volume Controls, Adjustable Difficulty, Playable without Timed Input
  • Steam Achievements, Steam Cloud, Family Sharing
  • Steam Deck support coming soon — handheld verification pending; see Steam Deck Guide
  • Cross-Platform Multiplayer on Steam for co-op squads

None of these replace a firm release date—they show ABUTTON’s PC-first scope while TBA remains.

Practical checklist while you wait

  1. Wishlist on Steam and Epic if you use both launchers.
  2. Join Discord for second-wave announcements or release date reveals.
  3. Study wiki guides — Getting Started, How to Play, Beginner Tips — to arrive at launch prepared.
  4. Read System Requirements before buying new hardware solely for launch.
  5. Watch How to Play for the official trailer without hunting reuploads.
  6. Bookmark Release and Wishlist—this page—for date updates.

Post-playtest outlook

With the first playtest and Gamescom 2026 complete, ABUTTON is analyzing data and tuning for the 1.0 release. Second-wave access, closed beta phases, or sudden release previews have preceded other indie roguelite launches. Missing the first test does not block launch enjoyment if you study wiki guides and verify specs early.

Stay wishlisted, stay in Discord, and watch this hub for second-wave access and release announcements.

TBA is not idle time—it is the window to wishlist, learn the magitech loop, and arrive at launch day already invested in camp, companions, and ridiculous guns.
